Over the past 25 years, I have worked in Santa Clara County as a social worker, and an academic emphasis counselor.  I have also continued my learning and education, in my areas of expertise, to always provide the best service I could to the families and communities I worked with.  My educational accomplishments began with receiving my undergraduate degree at California State University Hayward in 1992 majoring in Criminal Justice Administration with a minor in Spanish.  In 1995, I received my graduate degree from San Jose State University in Social Work with an emphasis on Children, Youth, Families and School Social Work.

At the same time I completed my graduate degree, I received my Pupil Personnel Services Credential which permitted me to work in schools with children from kindergarten through the twelfth grade.  In 2004, I received another graduate degree from San Jose State University in Educational Administration and Leadership.  Lastly in 2009, I completed all the requirements stipulated by the Board of Behavioral Sciences to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  The combination of my education and work experience has given me a greater insight and understanding into how to help the people I served no matter what their station was in life.  This is very important because no two people are the same and neither are their life experiences or conditions they find themselves in.

Beyond all the achievements and experiences listed above; I believe, just as important, I represent the success story of many of the graduates of the California State East Bay and the larger State University community; who were able to capture the promise of their dreams and see it become a reality because of the sacrifice of their family, friends, and loved ones.  I understand, very clearly, that no one arrives to achievement without a community of support around them and along the way.  

When working with people I take a holistic approach in addressing their concerns and problems to achieve a successful outcome that will not only benefit them individually but all those that they come into contact with in their daily life.
